On the franc-sandy terrains, protected from the north by small mountains of forest of pines and oaks, we cultivate twenty hectares of vineyard mainly of the native variety Tinta del País, that surpasses the fifty years of age. The traditional pruning works, our terrain and the microclimate of our area allow us to reach the perfect balance between acidity, sweetness, graduation and fruit flavor at the time of harvest. In the cellar, a combination of knowledge of generations, the best vats brought from all corners of the world and the different techniques of vinification, allow us to obtain the peculiar Casajús wines. Wines that its creator José Alberto Calvo Casajús elaborates with the same hands from the vineyard to the bottle.

For generations, both families, Calvo and Casajús have cultivated the grapevine and elaborated their own artisan wines, which were produced for their own consumption in old cave style wineries that today, are still preserved.
The elaboration of the Casajús Wines responds to that old tradition and familiar dedication: the knowledge acquired during generations, which long ago were used for general consumption, are now used for, with more modern techniques but respecting these origins, to elaborate the Casajús Wines.
José Alberto Calvo Casajús was born in Quintana del Pidio. This small town is located on the foothills of the north side of the Duero Valley that shapes the appellation of Ribera del Duero. He had the privilege of growing up in the bosom of a winemaking family, thus, he was exposed at a very young age to the wine making process and began to elaborate excellent artisan wine in this traditional winery.
